MY ROLE
Principal designer, making strategic decisions led by user research.

Running frequent friction logs with team to identify areas of improvement.
Collaborating with the CEO, project managers, engineers to deliver an impactful product and providing them with new discoveries, insights and bi-weekly design demos.
Recruited and manage a Product designer to support the team for Octobers launch.
Thinking big while delivering incrementally, working closely with engineers to ship solutions quickly in manageable releases.
The Process
Leading the vision to build a new product from zero to one, leveraging Carb Manager’s audience of millions to meet their needs by offering healthier snack options that keep them motivated on their diet journey.

Research & Discovery
Conducted interviews with multiple brands and Carb Manager users to uncover needs and identify opportunities.
Led brainstorming sessions and design sprint workshops to clarify business focus and objectives.
Crafted problem statements and user personas based on insights gathered from customer and brand discussions.

Ideation & Conceptualisation
Drove collaboration and shared low-fidelity mock-ups to validate the solution.
Mapped out core user journeys with low fidelity designs to quickly validate our solutions with stakeholders.
Developed the logo and style guide, establishing the visual identity for the project.

Design & Prototype
Created a full proof of concept for the app, showcasing the entire user journey from onboarding to ordering and reviewing samples.
Developed a design system to centralise components for seamless developer collaboration.
Presented and communicated design progress bi-weekly to the CEO and core team, including the Director of Revenue, Partnership Manager, Project Manager, and senior engineers.

Test & Refine
Successfully onboarded 20 brands and 200 users to test the product.
Conducted usability testing and gathered feedback to iterate into designs.
Achieved 100% retention of brands, all signing contracts for the October launch.

For the October launch, 100% brand retention for service payments was achieved due to the product's user-focused design.
